How the Day Sounds

I know you’re thinking that I disappeared off the planet.  Not to worry…I am right here.   We are making our way through it all, except what I knew of love is totally different now.  I  really like how the day sounds through my family’s new song.

Noah William Farnsworth was born September 30th, 2009. 9 pounds and 6 oz. 21 inches long.

It’s weird …you don’t think that your heart can grow any bigger than it is, but then it just happens. It bursts into a million more parts and just grows around your family, taking in all the new and making it like it was always there.

Noah is like no child I have ever met,  and I have met MANY children.  Maybe because I see more than just him. I see the two that came before him also – a slice of something new and something old.  I can see Bella in him with splashes of Joey everywhere.  He is so relaxed and really just wants you to cuddle him, but he has an awareness that is pure boy – just like Joey had.  It’s like he’s making big mental files called, “Stuff I Can Do Later for Fun and/or Profit” and “How to Not Get in Trouble for It.” He pretty much sleeps through the night only waking to eat and be told how great he is.

I have a new respect for time management and getting things done.  I also see where my priorities should be and am happy to be in this new position again.

Noah will be our last baby, and this makes everything he does even more important. So we are soaking it up left and right.  I can tell I am a calmer parent now than before.  Bella and Joey are allowed to pick up their brother with the gentle reminder of “Please don’t drop him! He is our back up to our back up child!”
